Lost Mail R&D
Lost Mail
Lost Mail was a research and development project bringing together two anonymous teams made up of a writer, director, and designer, from across the Atlantic. One team was based in Canada, the other in the UK. A dramaturg acted as go-between/disrupter between the teams.
We were given 3 tasks, or ‘passes’. The first ‘pass’ was for each team to create a list/art work detailing things we’d ‘lost’. This was then ‘posted’ to the dramaturg who could then edited/disrupt the list before delivering to the other team.
Pass 2 was a response by each team’s writer to the received disrupted list. This was then posted to the dramaturg who again edited/disrupted before delivering to each team on the other side of the ocean. Pass 3 was an opportunity for the designers and directors to create a piece in response to the disrupted delivery.
Only after Pass 3 was received and acted upon could we ‘meet.’
